End With Open Ending! Here Are Three Highlight Moments from Ep 15 & 16 Twenty-Five Twenty-One

Annyeong everyone, meet with me again, Rinan 😊 We will have a review session on an awesome and inspiring drama from episodes 15 & 16 of Twenty-Five Twenty-One. Firstly, I want to express my deepest honour and thank you for reading my review article about a Korean drama entitled Twenty-Five Twenty-One. Finally, it comes to an end and I hope next week I can write a review about the new on-going Korean drama and share it with all of you. Let’s check it out!

Twenty-Five Twenty-One totally has 16 episodes, which means episodes 15 and 16 will be the two last episodes of the drama. All the fans who have followed this drama since the first episode is aired may be shocked or sad as the drama doesn’t end with a happy ending or a sad ending, but it ends with an open ending. So, what is the open ending? An open ending is when a film, drama or a show ends with no clues of what is going to happen next. It keeps the story unresolved, so it makes the fans still wonder who Kim Min Chae’s father is and what is happening to Baek Yi Jin now. However, the drama has already shown that Na Hee Do and Baek Yi Jin break up. These two episodes are aired on Netflix and TvN on 2 and 3 April 2022. Here are the three moments from the two last episodes of Twenty-Five Twenty-One. You can prepare tissues to anticipate when you are crying lol.

1.      Na Hee Do and Baek Yi Jin Broke Up

This tragedy begins when Baek Yi Jin is put on the local news department from his previous position in the sport news department. Yi Jin’s new department makes him busy than sports did. At first, Na Hee Do really shows her support and keep understanding Yi Jin’s job. It also means this couple loses the time together and cannot spend time together just like a couple did as usual. Hee Do busy with her fencing training and Yi Jin is busy with his job.

The time goes by and the couple try to do their best to keep in a relationship. Yi Jin has a plan to go on a trip together to celebrate their 600 days being a couple. All is well-settled, such as buying a couple bags, tickets etc. However, on D-day suddenly Yi Jin says he cannot go with Hee Do because Yi Jin is sent to New York to do a live report about the tragedy of 9/11 in the United States.

Days turn into weeks and then months since Yi Jin went to New York. There is nothing Hee Do can do; she only can watch from the other side of the world as the emotional distance between them grows. The day break up really comes when Yi Jin comes back to South Korea. Hee Do says she is exhausted with their relationship. It seems they will keep hurting each other when they are together, so Hee Do decides to break up with him. However, Yi Jin keeps trying to save their relationship. Hee Do is on opposites side as she says they will be happy together when they are happy and they will hurt each other when they have a problem. She tries to explain to Yi Jin that breaking up is the best way for them. Hee Do wants Yi Jin to continue working as a news reporter in New York without thinking about her in South Korea. Hee Do also wants Yi Jin to let her focus on fencing and her career without overthinking about him on the other side of the world.

2.      Ko Yu Rim and Na Hee Do Are Retiring from Fencing

Yu Rim is the first to retire from fencing and open up her own fencing club back in South Korea. She is training the next generation of fencing stars. She can finally live in Korea and never receive or be under pressure from anyone. It is slightly different from Hee Do, who continues fencing for a bit longer, until she decides to retire too. On the day Hee Do gives her last press conference, Yu Rim comes with a flower and wants to support Hee Do. One of the reporters asks, who is the most honourable moment throughout her career and she says the most honourable moment of her career is being Yu Rim’s rival.

Yu Rim also says that the same with Hee Do. The most honourable moment in her career is being Hee Do’s rival. They cry in each other’s arms again. This scene shows their friendship fully restored and their friendship lasts throughout the rest of their careers and beyond.

3.      There is no hint about Kim Min Chae’s Father

When the plot goes back to the present time, all the fans realize that there is no hint in the last episode about Naa Hee Do’s husband or Kim Min Chae’s father. In addition, throughout the drama there are also some clues about his identity. All the fans wonder who is the actual father of Min Chae and is it more perfect than Yi Jin or not. Actually, I am also curious about it lol.

To conclude, I will give my own remarks about the last episodes from Twenty-Five Twenty-One. To be honest, I really love this drama and I will say repeatedly to all my friends and everyone to watch this drama. The drama not only shows us about the love story from the characters, but also learns from how all characters’ living their lives in the middle of the hardest time for South Korean people. We can learn how they make an effort to have a better life and get out of all the hardships they have.

The drama wants us to know that actually what we need at some stage in our lives may not be what we need in the present or we can have it forever. However, when we get what we need when we need it from people around us, just like Hee Do, who receives confidence from her coach and Baek Yi Jin, therefore she can continue fencing and achieve her dreams. Just like Baek Yi Jin who receives a lot of supports from his family, Hee Do and all his friends, so he can get out of the difficult situation and financial difficulty. When we can get what we need when we need it, it will give us another effort, hope and strength even though in the future life may throw and bring us down again.

The drama also wants us to keep our dreams live. It is very possible that life will knock us down for no reason and make our dreams seem impossible to achieve. And when those terrible moments happen, we need to pick up the piece of our dream and try something new to achieve our new hope for our dreams. The drama also states to have a good friend, a good environment, and a good motivator in our way of living our dreams.

So, yeorobun, that’s all for my review of the two last episodes 15 and 16 of Twenty-Five Twenty-One. What do you think about the open ending of the drama and what you get after the drama ends? Kindly, lemme know ya!

Thank you for visiting!
